Our Boxing Club
More than just a boxing gym, the club exists to help young people build confidence, resilience, respect and self-belief. Through structured training, mentorship and teamwork, members learn the importance of discipline, commitment and accountability — values that extend far beyond the ring.
The club plays an important role within the local community by giving young people a positive outlet, encouraging healthy lifestyles and creating opportunities for personal growth. Through boxing, members develop not only physical fitness and technical skills, but also the mindset and character needed to succeed in everyday life.
West Wythenshawe Boxing Club reflects the long-standing tradition of grassroots boxing clubs acting as hubs for youth development and social inclusion. The sport provides structure, routine and belonging, helping young people channel their energy positively while learning respect for themselves and others.
The club is run by dedicated coaches including Clive Smith and Andy Parry, who work to create an inclusive environment where every member is encouraged to reach their full potential — both inside and outside the gym. Sessions are open to juniors and seniors, with an emphasis on respect, effort, teamwork and community spirit.
At its heart, West Wythenshawe Boxing Club represents the positive impact grassroots sport can have within local communities: providing opportunity, guidance and a pathway for young people to grow in confidence, character and ambition.
